Personal projects

This page outlines the personal projects that I have worked on throughout my collegiate career.

Projects

Phoenix Hand

Hook and Socket

Within EnableUC I was able to be apart of a team to complete two prosthetics. The first prosthetic was a Phoenix Hand that we created for instructional use. I worked on the engraving on the hand as well as putting together a video to demonstrate how the hand works.

The project my team is currently working on is a hook and socket mechanism for a client overseas. I am responsible for the harness that straps around the users shoulders and back.

These projects have allowed me to properly experience all aspects of medical device development. I was able to understand the importance of the cost of materials, documentation, communication, and team work.

"Soothe"

"Soothe" is a product created to ease the sensory overload in children and young teens. This project was selected to be apart of the Venture Lab Accelerator Cohort to further understand the business model for our project. We are eligible to receive funding from the University to work on our product.

Autonomous Robot

In my Sophomore year of college, I was in a Design and Engineering course in which we had to build and code an autonomous robot that would complete tasks and move around a track. This robot had a sensor that would follow a line on the track, pick up a box, then drop it off at a designated location.

"ThinkBox"

ThinkBox was an application created to allow users to document their moods and feelings at various points throughout the day. It is in no means meant to replace the use of a therapist or doctor but rather be the middle man between interactions with health professionals. After documenting spurts of feelings throughout the week, the app compiles them into a journal entry to properly assess and analyze the week. This can be passed on to the health professional to analyze the different mood points so the problem can be identified.

We were able to reach the International stage for the Health Occupational Students of America Competition for this project.
